Hi my wife has the bug after trying my SUP.

Looking on advive for board length width and volume for her as a beginner.

She is 170cm weighs 80kg complete beginner and wants to eventually catch small waves.

This is exactly what I would do lol :) , or depending on what you ride give her your board and upgrade your own board, then you can say the old- theres no point buying a new board honey, your only going to wreck your first board everyone does, thats why everyone starts of on an old board first, this way even tho your lying your not really because its true ;) .

i was think 8'10 pro wave, or 8'5 mana or 8'5 starby pro or 8'6 jp pro.... u get the picture... easier for her to carry (for u to the beach :) )

Just done / doing this exercise for 15 year old daughter rather than wife, but at 5' 8" and 55kg similar thing

She has to be able to carry it.
If you are going no where near surf in the foreseeable future, and or only want to ride small shore break stuff, don't buy a surf board

So my wife decided on the ocean critters board. Looks good to me for the price.

I did have a go and managed to paddle around the marina with the board 4cm underwater. (Fat git)

Defo too small for me. But she is enjoying her first ever board sport which is good enough for me.
