Today Brendan, Cam and I had a great sech at Woolamai Beach Phillip Island.

It was a great day and perfect weather.

When Cam and I got there Brendan was already out and getting some head high waves on the bigger sets.

When we came in there was a gang of surfer-dudes in the car park and some came over and I thought.. Here's trouble.

But we got smiles and friendly talk like.. How hard is that and How long have you been doing it.. I think they were impressed.. ..and great to see no agro.

I must have driven past you guys around 10:00am on my way to Inverloch.

On Sat I paddled across the inlet over to Venus Bay where it looked quite similar to the conditions you were experiencing. The water was crystal clear and I found some long 200m rides on glassy bumps that were just crumbing away on the top. This morning I saw a pod of 30 - 40 dolphins doing incredible acrobatics jumping very high out of the water, they looked like a different species to others that I've seen as they were dark on the top and white underneath. Will have to look them up.

Winter has been great so far.

Was thick fog this morning at the Island Oliver.Couldn't see the water from the carpark. Some blokes I spoke to that had come from Wonthaggi way said there was no fog at all down there so you may have scored the best conditions today?

The Surfers just had a chat in the carpark Champcrow so they didn't have a testride.

Killy's was best today Brendan when I checked on the way out.

Cheers,
Camo.

I got out there at 8:00am and it was sunny and no fog. I've been going to Inverloch for years now and this morning was like no other. I did a big paddle to Eagles Nest via the little rock island off shore from the RACV club. The water was the clearest I've ever seen there. I think I could see 20 meters to the bottom.

The waves were small 1 -2 foot but riding the little long bumps was fun, the big pod of dolphins just capped the morning off. I had lunch in Kilcunda - can highly recommend the flathead. I'd agree with you Cammo the waves were probably best at Kilcunda today.

Trust me Cammo, I've been asking myself the same question for much of this w/e. Then I got home looked at the forcast and the wind is coming back. However, next glassy midweek day I've got some excuses that I'm yet to exploit.

Just found a pic of the pod of dolphins I think saw today. They are called dusky dolphins and some of them were jumping many meters out of the water like this.

I saw you guys there saturday... what great conditions... you guys had some awesome rides! The photos don't do justice to some of the waves you caught...

only brought my fish surfboard on saturday and left my sup at home. after seeing you catch a few waves I realised what a mistake it was!

I Supped at Woolami a few weekends ago and although you get some strange looks when you paddle up to the lineup the vibe was really good in the water. There is always plenty of waves to share.

Have you guys tried Left point at Shelly beach? when it is working you can get some really long rides

DJ make sure you post on the forum that you are planning a SUP surf on the Island :)

G'Day Rick, will send a PM next time we head down that way. What sup board are you riding?
Here's a short vid of the tiny conditions we've had in Vicco of late. The first wave though is from the week before and according to Brendan[}:)] the size of the waves just before myself and DJ hit the water an hour after him.Yer right.
Cheers,
Camo.

Hi Camo, Thanks, look forward to getting on the water with you guys. I have a 2008 Starboard 12'6" not the best option for waves but still goes OK - for now it's the option I have.

Nice Vid!
