Wishing our favourite Greeny a speedy recovery after several days in hospital following a mountain bike accident. Hope you make a full recovery and are out on the water sooner rather than later.
All the best mate.
Perhaps there are some cool vids floating around that people can post to give him something to watch in the meantime. Hope that doesn't make you feel worse

I hope he doesn't mind me posting this, but this is what Owen recently posted on Facebook,

"Thanks everyone for your love and support the last few days. I know it was a long wait and process but found out this morning that I fractured my lower back (sacrum). The hardest part now is trying to lay still for more than 5 minutes!"

I'm guessing this post is like an equivalent of a facebook get well soon page.

Which reminds me, I'd better get rid of my FB profile, before plebs who don't know me write unwanted crap about me when I'm dead or in the same situation.

Well, these are the times we live in.

Hope you get better Greeny, don't like hearing about anyone I know digitally or in real life being unwell, or having unfortunate accidents. I hope my pixels help you get through it.

Have a speedy recovery!

Hey thanks Adam and everyone and no I don't mind. Not everyone here are friends of mine on Facebook so it's all good
Lets just say I'm lucky I'm walking. Well sort of walking. Slowly one foot in front of the other.
On Monday arvo Miller, a couple of friends and I set off for some trail riding. We started off on an easy trail then up to one of our favourites. Close trees, fast lines, nice jumps and berms. To me this trail is the closest thing to surfing the dirt. Anywho I've hit the last switchback and looked over my shoulder to see young mate hot on my heels so I give it piss. The next few jumps are tight and windy. I hit the first ok but the second came up sideways and when I landed my bike bucked me up and over the handlebars off to the side and flat on my back. But under my lower back was an old log about 30cm in diameter.
When I hit I had a massive jolt of electricity go from my hips through my legs and I was in pain!
I couldn't move for what seemed like 5mins.
My legs weren't moving and I couldn't get up. Eventually I rolled onto my stomach and on my hands and knees.
Yeah I know this was the stupid part of the story and probably should have stayed on the ground but I must have been in huge shock to get up and push, walk and crawl my bike back to my car and home. Even sent my friends on their way and said all will be fine. I don't really remember much of that part or even driving home. All I could think of was my wife and boss are gonna kill me!
Eventually got an ambulance to the hospital after waking up in severe pain that I couldn't see, had the cold sweats and passed out.
So after 4 days on morphine and valium, throwing my guts up from getting so high on drugs, a trip in the ambo to Bunbury for an MRI, it's good to say that I'm going to be ok with just a fractured sacrum.
Sorry for the long story. I tried to keep it short.
But believe it or not my doctor has told me that when I'm feeling like I can walk and stand for longer periods I should get back onto the paddle board on flat water to help with the healing process.
Don't worry doc, you have my approval there hahaha
By the way, any one want to buy a Trek Fuel Ex 6... Not

Ahh, surfing the dirt!! Sounds like you were pretty lucky there GR!
It is always the trade off when zipping around single track, (just like taking big sucky drops and your 12'er out for a spin at low tide, for that matter), there is always the risk you will come a cropper. I guess that is the trade-off when Adrenaline is your drug of choice Stoked to hear you will ride another day GR!

Get cracking Hilly I reckon you got about 2 months maybe 3 before I wanna get right back into it again. Just don't wanna screw things up even more by getting to antsy. You know it's freaking killing me and it hasn't even been a week. My poor wife and kids have seen the devil in me[}:)]
Oh well we got the Cape to Cape in October to do dont forget
Plus we got plenty of winter surfing in a few months. Should be nice and ready for that YEOW!
See you next week. I'll be the water boy

Yep I'm a dick and some big saggy balls to go with it Mark. Laying on my back now and thinking how blessed I am that I'm still able to walk. Was a close call and you know what the crazy thing is? I'll be back on the bike doing it again in a few months time Just a bit more cautious

Time to buy that race board you always dreamed of ,I did 13 weeks on the sideline a couple of years ago no fun ,put rush tv on the abc on your to watch list I think it's on weekdays at 12 it'll keep the froth alive and stick to the water any thing with wheels and involves hard ground and speed = pain I'm still paying for it. Get well soon bruda

Greenroom, get well soon and well done in not severing your spinal cord. Maybe when you're better you'll come ride North Shore with me?

Here's the riding conditions here now (Kamloops, by the look of it):

Thanks for the well wishes everyone.
It's been a week now and I'm still in bed. Short trips to the dunny and a few laps around the house is as far as I've gone.
Yesterday was the hardest day by far. So so so sick and throwing up I thought my insides were coming out. The house was spinning and I couldn't stop it even with my eyes shut.
It's killing me more than ever today coz its windy and its going off down at the point. Koster is in town too and to be able to windsurf with him would have been sick!
Yeah sick vids fellas. Keep them coming
A few of us have ordered some lights for night riding. Can't wait to get them. Nothing more dangerous than smashing down some single tracks during the day. Chuck a few lights on and do it in the dark

I ride home each night with one of these mounted on my helmet... It's awesome.

http://www.bikeexchange.com.au/bike_accessories/niterider/lights/niterider-solmate/burwood/nsw/100103807

You can get them from Wiggle for about half the price that they are here.

I've done heaps of night mt biking and I wouldn't do it without a helmet light because you need to see ahead of where the corner is.. Handle bar lights are always behind when you turn into a corner leaving you turning into darkness.. Depending on how wide the beam is.. Having both is the best.

I bought one of these a couple of years ago & love it! Was told not to buy anything except for 'Ay-up', but couldn't justify the cost. The 'Expillion' is a powerful, light, small light that is rechargeable, holds a decent charge & at a good price - comes with helmet & handle-bar attachments.

Hope you have a speedy recovery Greeny.

Thanks DJ. You really know how to pull on my heart strings
Makes me want it more.
Philip Koster is in town and I couldn't even get out of bed to go watch him rip it up. It kills me to not be able to go windsurfing out there with them. It's on again today. Look out for the photos in the windsurfing section. Col text me and said he got some rippers.
Scott McKercher, Philip Koster, Peter Volwater, Corey Jones, John Pott, Paul Lane and many others going big.
And then there is me
