Awesome fish. I bet the 100 boats on the reef were jealous.
Has anyone ever seen more boats on the reef? Makes surfing The Alley interesting when all want to come in at once before the tide gets too low.

nothin low bout that. awesome, guess there's another reason to justify a down winder to the missus.
maybe a stupid question, not done any spear fishing before, but how hard is it to spear something that moves that fast?

Did you spear it while standing or did you have a mask etc and dive under water to spear it?

"Oi" the tiltle of whats lower than sup fishing refers to lying in water instead of standing and paddling around with a rod as i have seen some crew do. Just a subject title to interest people.
DJ, I bag the gear that i don't wear out there(goggles,drink and fins).Everything else i need i wear on the standup paddle out (checking vis and spotting fish) ready to hunt.But after seeing those eze plugs i will change the tie down point in front of the grip to make entry and exit easier so i lessen the chance of losing gear especially fins.
Cheers for the friendly comments guys, you would be surprised at some peoples (ignorant) reactions to me spearing fish!! Especially some line fishermen who aren't catching jack s#@t. HA HA HA

Just to rub it in. 13 steaks later i love eating and sharing fresh spanish mackrel with family & friends.Thats what its all about... don't forget the beer to wash it all down!!!

I was sitting having smoko with about 6 blokes today and my mate said he had seen this guy on a big green ski come in with a big spaniard and spear gun off Palmy, my mate was on his race ski, half the blokes didnt believe it so I got my laptop out and showed them the pics most of them couldnt believe it.I was supping off Currumbin on Sunday morning and couldnt believe the ammount of boats out it would of been priceless to see the looks on their faces when you pulled up and dragged the big spaniard on board after they had all spent $50 on 2 stroke and pillies
