I 2nd that, but not much we can do this year. It will still be a good day.
I vote 13th or a Peninsula or Phillip Island beachie next year.

The words Point Impossible and high performance should never be spoken in the same breath unless there is traditional longboard thrown into the sentence.

Nothing against this years titles, I just prefer the punch of the beachies. Possos has
let me down the last few times, more so because of the crowd. But to have it empty
would be fun!

sounds like theres an overall discontent at surf sup events.
I think running your own sup surf events is the only way to go, you then have control over venue, timing etc.
I dont understand how you determine a state champion from one event either, raise the stakes and you'll raise the standard and profile.

Sat morning, and most of the Sunday look good on this forecast. 4 foot.... Is it locked into Jan Juc, or can it relocate to Point Impossible?

Saturday Afternoon - strong potential for some PtDanger to Whites Beach.... DW runs.... Quite a few pick up options on Whites... Early afternoon low tides, indicates you can probably get away with dropping the soft roaders onto the sand via Fisherman's Beach, and do board collections on the sand along Whites Beach, and shuttle them back up to Pt Danger, and go again....

Nah Mick, not a goofy thing more of a history thing. Ripped the bell housing off the tranny of my first car, an EJ Premiere hydromatic, in 1978 on that god forsaken track in. As a shortboarder of some thirty eight years it was and still is the sort of wave I would crawl over broken glass to avoid. Its a wave best suited to a traditional mal with a whopping great D fin and as much area as a small African Dictatorship. Have a mate who swears the outside reef is OK on its day and I have no reason to disbelieve him. Just way too many quality waves fifteen minutes East or West. These days it's the spiritual home of the Victorian Chapter of the National Recyclers Association, you know, the crew who think surfboard design and performance peaked around 1961.

Thats ok then I was beginning to think you didn't like the place lol

It's one of the best places (if not the best) for down the line wave sailing on it's day but I haven't sailed there for probably 5 years.
Come to think of it, haven't sailed anywhere for almost 2 years, SUP takes up too much time!

Posso's is pretty much always a crowded break, even midweek at the moment and SUPs are simply not welcomed with open arms by any means!

Coastal watch continues to direct all and sundry to go there on their web updates and in the last 3 years its gotten to be a total ZOO.

Its not unusual to have 30 to 50 long and short boarders battle it out over what ever is on offer. No matter how skilled you are you will probably clean someone up at inners due to the volume of people in the water.

The reality is paddling on you will get blocked, dropped in on or faded most of the time, if not all the time until you get the point and leave.

Best rule of thumb is as Sparks suggests go somewhere else as there are many better options 5 - 15 mins in either direction.

Anyone else had a look at the draw? Faaark heat three looks like an asskicker! According to the Surfing Vic website we are now go for Torquay Pt and the SUP divisions are first up. Perhaps we can get a little shelter in there from the predicted 20 to 30 knot Sou Wester. Ah well, paved roads at least, shouldnt have to sacrifice the transmission on the family truckster!!

well a big swell on the way for the sup event, 8ft+ that size I will struggle to get through the shore break, any chance for a tow in.. that is to around the corner where it will be smaller or even into next week when the swell drops

I think I might need a tow in for the SUP Club race at StKilda beach.
