AAHHHH the memories come flooding back. Looks like great surf of years gone by. Have a few for me guys. At least I managed to SUP some small clean Bells recently. That was a hoot and something different for me.

I wish I was being hammered with those swells instead of this insane workload.

You should have seen it near dark on the low...EPIC. full standup barrels...I Borrowed a Wayne Lynch 6'6 from Patagonia and hit it. There must've been about 40-50 guys out worst luck. Pretty hard to get one to yourself...
As for sup. No way. The offshore was 15-30Knts and there was considerable tension amongst the lineup. I surfed for 2 hours and sneaked less than 5 waves to myself. I got faded on at least another 5 and coped heavy beatings on the inside... (I had to hang in and go the inbetween waves as there was too many guys to have a chance at any of the sets...)You'd never get back out on SUP and even if you did (AND THE WIND DIDN"T STOP YOU CATCHING ANYTHING) the local crew would KILL YOU.

Even the groms with all the stickers on their boards were struggling for a wave. It was definatly a day for go deep go high go fast get aggro on the takeoff and look scary as hell or you are sharing this wave with someone who does....

Still it was EPIC...Still on a high. You've gotta have your own game plan to get waves at winki when its on. total strategy around the crowd.

I was there at 6 (Dark) the next morning but it was fat and Gay. The tides are all wrong for it this time of year Unless it gets BIG...

I think SUP could be tolerated at Bells. But No way at Winki. Its a high power crew there and it just wouldn't be handled at all...

Yeah, that's how I remember it from the one time I surfed it. Bit like trying to SUP North Narra when it's cooking.

A mate of mine from years ago down there was a regular on his Goatie, he lived on a farm right near the place and was a full local. Don't know if he is still there or not.

Yes I agree, not really a wave for subs for all of those reasons mentioned by silsy but looks great to have hit on the shortboard, good work getting a few waves with that crowd

The swell dropped off today in Vicco but so did the wind which meant super clean fun waves this morning. Here's some pics from a reef break area I stumbled across[to remain nameless ].

The loggers were sticking together on the inside.

More of the outside reefs.

Cheers,
Camo.
