Im In Maui now - good waves, warm it's pretty good, anyway it got me thinking about the ideal sup holiday. From my limited experience, my ultimate Sup holiday would be in Margaret River or Tasmania in January/February. At another time of year maybe Fiji, Samoa, Tonga could be appealing although not having access to unlimited funds, I'm not sure if they would stack up as viable options.

Im sure anyone reading this can think of their own ultimate Sup holidays- if so let's hear about them.

I think Tassie could be all time , a bit biased though as im an ex taswegian. But i would like to be the first to sup some of the wild rivers and brave a few bombs on the west coast.I remeber monster waves their when i was a kid , i reckon it could be a untapped spot for those chasing the biggest waves on the planet.South west Tasmania is one of the worlds most uninhabited and unspoilt regions on Earth.

I smile when Goldcoasters say we have the best beaches in the world , they obviousley havent been to Tassie.

The other spot is where you are now

South Cape Bay Solitude, Tasmania.
7km walk in, or 22km by boat. Certain solitude.

well it looks like I will be spending a bit of time traveling to PNG early next year, so hopefully I will get to SUP a few of the spots up there.

I've got a 10'10" Focus and it's a pig, must weigh 20kg and cost $40 per day plus $6 per day ding insurance. I guess it does the job.

Agree, went there this year with my son - had 7 days days straight of offshore every day, head high to 2 x over head, choice of lefts/rights, mellow/hollow all on a luxury boat
