I have been thinking about a twin hull racing SUP for quite a while.

Then after trying out a downwinder board which I find was not that fast as what I would have thought, I used to racing surfski's (Fenn Ski) in the old country and they were alot quicker even though the stroke rate was double, it has re-inforced my idea.

Anybody out here tried or considerd it doing a twin hull, the idea is to have a more stream line hull/s wider apart for stability. I would think that the twin hull would make it run in a straight line much better and with the correct hull design if you lent on the opposite side it would make the board turn the other direction. The double hull setup in front would also incorporate a snitch preventing nose diving/pearling.

Well it is legal but it must be one complete piece. Unlike the SIC and Riviera where there were two complete hulls joined by a third party. If it is one complete moulded unit, it legal!

I had a run on one on lake Macquarie this week. Was very quick stable, although it was 0 wind and waves.Biggest advantage seemed to be that it didn't turn as much, so you could paddle on one side alot longer. Board is still in Porto-type but is looking to be produced locally very soon.

Just take the sail off a hobie cat(or stick to kiting).
