Hey guys,

Just bought a 2nd hand Naish 11'4. I'm having trouble removing the centre fin. I have removed the screw but the fin won't slide at all. I'm thinking there maybe some sand/grit in the track? Is there a release pin I haven't seen.??

Thanks.

That's pretty common.. Best to be tight than loose.. Where abouts are you.

I'd use the palm of my hand and hit it back.. or lightly tap the tip of the fin back with a rubber mallet.

Thank DJ,

I placed a towel at the base of the fin and gave a few good taps with nil luck. I might have to give the rubber mallet a go.

I hear it's one of your ex-boards. you didn't glue it in did you?? Haha.

Yes.. my old board..

No.. didn't glue it..

I'm happy to do it for you if you're local.

Or if you were to pop into The Zu or RPS I'm sure they'd be happy to do it for you.

You don't want to damage the fin or board.. You need to be tapping near the fin tip.. not the base.

Nice to know my old board is getting used... i liked those deck-dots that i made for it..

Yes!! Success!!! It just needed a bit of convincing and elbow grease.

Funny hey, I was having the exact same trouble yesterday - just needed copious amounts of wriggling and soft persuasion.
I can't believe how pristine that board looks! Mine's half a year old and looking a bit sorry for itself due to snapped leggies (always happens in the wrong spot!) and paddle dints.

Yeah foam, just like you said it just took a bit of wriggling to eventually get it out.

Mate, I'm really happy with the board. I haven't got it wet yet, but it looks and feels well crafted and previously well looked after too. I can't wait to get it out in the surf in a 1-2 foot day. I've been riding 9' mals all my life, this is my first transition board into SUP.

You'll enjoy it Walks! Also have an 11'6'' and get it out on small days and flatwater.
