I guess that is a move away from Oxbow given they probably compete with Hurley in the euro market.

Any sponsor would have to be happy to have him as part of the team. Put aside his given talent with anything that that floats, he is also a very personable young guy that portrays a very clean, professional and respectful image. In this day and age of the "cool" surfer and "hardcore" moto guys it is a bit refreshing to see him break the mould a little.

Simply amazing... and like aus301 said... seems like a really peaceful soul as well.

My only question:
How does he choose what to ride today? I wonder if he has a favorite.

It defies logic...99.9% of humans would not be able to acquire that level of skill in just one of those disciplines - he is beyond world-class in all of them....imagine if he just focused on one????

And yes, how does he decide on what to do for the day????? And still stay level headed???? Incredible.

Oxbow is dead. Here in Europe and everywhere else!

I had already noticed in the last couple of months that he was riding with Hurley boardshorts.
I think it's pretty amazing, since Hurley has the strongest surfing team in the world and due to being owned by nike it's probably one of the healthiest surf cos at the present day!

I think being the "Tiger Woods" of water sports is a pretty good job! Let's hope that he does not have a secret life like TW and ruin that image of humility and charm. Kai could bring a huge amount of investment and focus to multi-discipline watersports I. General.
With the exposure or Hurley and Nike marketing campaigns he could be the inspiration for the next generation to put down their Nintendos, iPhones, PSP, Android devices and get out in the ocean.

Over the years in Maui I've sailed and kited with him and his family off Sugar Cove, it's just not possible to say anything negative about him. I don't know him other than a bit of small talk but when he's on the water you just wanted to be out there too laughing and having fun.

Pretty awesome, I reckon that Kai will go down as one of the greatest waterman of all time. Everyone does know that Hurley is owned by Nike don't they, although they keep it a bit quiet, something to do with cred.

Will be a boon to Naish to as you probably can't have an ad with Kai in it without him on some form of Naish board.

Hurley billboard with John John, Julian Wilson, Carissa Moore, Bob Burnquist and now Kai Lenny! That's a strong marketing team there, would this be Hurleys first move into the SUP market? Interesting...

Hurleys big sponsorship Blink 182, All Time Low, Avenged Sevenfold and Reggae Band The Green.

The sponsorship of surfers is also long. I don't know if they particularly care about Kai being a SUP legend, more of an all around face of board sports. Being a big wave paddle in surfer is probably a bigger consideration I would reckon. That is in my opinion only and may not reflect the opinion of others :)

Hurley has been a surf label since 99 I think, after all didn't Bob run Billabong USA? Never the less, Kai is on probably the biggest global surf brand, and it will be interesting if they start throwing the coin around into competitions, the way they do their other sponsored sports :)

True true with Jon Jon, would be incredible to see a whole lot of these guys put together in a multidiscipline board sport comp. Truth is that these elite guys are super freaks and I think would blow our minds with what they are capable of.
