Here she is.

Push..push..breath (or is it blow).

They come with a board bag that's the perfect shape for the board.

Mmmm.. Double leash plugs.

She's out.

Here's the nose shape.

Tail shape.

The grip looks good..I might have to wash my feet before I get on.

The Naish logo is a raised stick on job.

The fin's the same big 10 1/2" fin like the 11'6 and 11'4" wave boards.

The hand hole's not quite in the right spot..Why can't they get that right?

The rails are very full without being too boxy.

There's a sharp edge on the rail that goes from the nose to the tail.

There's a slight V in the nose and less V in the tail..with a slight double barrel concave through the mid section.

My next pics will be on the water... I'll let you know what I think.

Yeah I think so...Not too high..Not too low.... Just right..

I've just been watching one of the SupBus guys paddling around St Kilda in the rain on their Glide live on the WebCam and it seems to sit fairly low in the water.

That's a good thing I reckon.. I don't want a third of the board up there in the air catching the breeze.

It will be interesting down winding to see if it wants to perl and if the nose catches with those sharp rails near the nose.

Thanks guys.. Its pissing down here right now and yesterday was perfect weather.. Bugger!

I didn't go down because I thought the vent plug/screw was missing.

But it now seems that the hole in the deck is for a mast track and not a vent plug...So..There's no vent screw??!!

Congratulations, that's a beautiful board DJ, love the nose block. Seems to have quite a bit of rocker and not as chunky in the nose as I thought compared to some of the sneak pics that have come out.

It looks like it will be perfect for the downwinders here and the next paddle to Philip Island. Is it noticeably heavier than the 11'4" and 11'6"? I can't wait to have a squiz of it tomorrow at Point Leo.

That's a nice quiver sitting right there. Not only are the Naish boards very durable they look good. That nose block is a work of art and I like how they add the little cosmetic and useful extras - carry handles and sail masts - and listen to the public about things like matching the deck grip with the design.

If I was to add anything else I'd have the big Naish come standard with some netting at the front of the board to carry stuff and the leash plugs on the deck of the smaller board to carry the board using the handle.

They need to get the handle hole in the right place. It's almost impossible to hold the Glide with one hand in the carry hole.

It definitely should come standard with deck plugs for carrying the paddle (as well as a centre carry hole) and for a cargo net. I wonder if that would add much weight?

It will be interesting to see how the white gloss finish stands up to handling and general knocking about. It certainly looks gorgeous.

That board looks awesome dj, bring it down here sometime and I will send It Into some big waves for you I think the naish boards are fantastic, the only thing I dont like about them Is If there is some hole or something left for a mast, This is stand up paddle boarding, If you want a windsurfer go buy one

Surfers can always use the little deck mast hole as a marker to position their feet. Windsurfers can use the little hole to put a mast in when it's flat while you are watching TV, grumbling about the lack of swell I've never used a sail on my aircraft carrier but I like a board with options.

Gorgo, You don't need the carry hole and center deck plugs if you have something like this:

Oooh, another thing to buy.

I was lucky.... my old Naish deck grip matched up pretty well.

Phil and Nic took out there new Glides today

And they Loved it

Smooth on take off, gets on the plane with very little effort

A couple of paddle strokes and it just keeps going.

Very stable, no tip at all, water was glass, but no hint of rocking

Easy, easy, easy to paddle, tracks well.

Turns on a dime, Great bag

Seems alot lighter than the 11'6" but it might be the shape

Down side; the sun wasn't out and we weren’t in Hawaii

maybe it is the locating for routing out the mast track, stick something flexible in and see how far it goes or call JB. Cover the hole with wax.

You're probably right for a flatwater board. For surf I want to be able to just grab it quick and get out of the shorebreak. It would be a crap way to end a session if you're getting beat up by waves trying to pick up your board.

After waiting 9 months my Glide it's finally here and it's turned back to Winter with 30-40 knots of freezing cold wind from the south and the rain has been pissing down all day.

I went down to the SHQ demo day at Pt Leo this morning.. It was great to see half a dozen keen SUP'ers out there in the rain having a good time.

I stayed dry and warm in my car..and rested my twisted sore knee.

Pretty please.. Can we have a good day tomorrow.. (I think the forcast is for worse than today)..

What happened to Summer?

We tried one with the fin in place in the shop and it was still nose heavy. The nose would just clunk down into the floor even holding with your fingers right at the front of the hole and the fin at the very back of the box.

You could clamp your arm on the board and that would hold the nose up but I couldn't see anyone carrying it more than a few metres that way.

Sorry to harp on this but there's not much point having the most fantastic board if it's too hard to carry to the water and back. It's meant to be fun not a test of strength and endurance.

Maybe the go is to order a Glide on the condition that you get one that balances on the handle ... or get $500 off for a factory reject if it doesn't (note no smiley face).

BTW Sounds like everybody was watching the demo day on the Crunnchy Pt web cam. It looked like ghost SUPpers gliding through the gloom.

I was watching it too - the cam. I was planning on going but didn't fancy the idea of the drive there and back in these conditions. I am kind of enjoying the rain though - it's like the winter we never had.

You would think placing the carry handle at the center of gravity of the board would be a pretty easy thing to sort out. With all those years of R&D you reckon they could have worked that out.

It was great weather for ducks.. In fact I had to stop a few times diving into Pt Leo and let the ducks cross the road in front of me.. If it wasn't so wet I'd taken a picture.

My Glide is a little nose heavy but before I complain too much I'll have to wrap my leggie around the tail and see if that helps.. Maybe they alowed for that..

I've exchanged a few emails with Naish and they are going to check their quality control process.

There's no way the fin or leg-rope could have any significant effect on the balance of the board. My Starboard is perfectly easy to carry no matter what fin I have in or no fin or no leg rope.

It's curious how such a thing could happen. You'd think the moulding and shaping process would be consistent and straight forward and every board would be the same.

If some boards are balanced and others not then that implies that they are cutting the hole after construction and not measuring accurately. Given the extremely high quality finish on the Glide that doesn't make sense.

Alternately the density of the blank varies significantly from board to board and that is a thought too horrible to contemplate.
