Does anyone know if these are stocked by an Australian distributor?
Some of the surf spots around home require carrying the board up to 1km. I am not too crazy about drilling holes in my new SUB. Looks like a good solution.
Thanks RobDog

It looks like a hose hanger thingy they sell at Bunnings.

You could wrap some tape around it or put some pipe lagging over it to protect the board.

Looks like a good idea. But what do you do with the thing when you're at the beach? I wouldn't be thrilled at the idea of walking 1km back to the car, then 1km back to the beach, and repeat all that when you've done paddling for the day.
I like the idea of those webbing strap holders. The weight of the board is supported over your shoulder, and you can wrap it up and keep it in the pocket of your boardies.

You dont need to remove the webbing if you use light grade. After all they only hold the weight of your board. They dont get in the way at all.

The SUP carrying problem would almost disappear if the carry hole was hollowed inside you you could bend your fingers over. At the moment you carry the weight of the board on your fingers instead of your hand.

Would it be that hard for manufacturers to make a hollow on the inside?

I have a commercial SUP strap thing but it would be the work of minutes to knock up one of these.

The commercial jobby uses fastex buckles to close and it is hard to get tight enough to not slip when supporting weight on the paddle. After a session I prefer to put the slings on at the water's edge so that sand is not trapped between the straps and the board.

I used to use a similar strap. If you install these leash plugs in your board and those little webbing tails as per the picture I posted hold your paddle and if you don't have a handle (or don't like you handle) you can safely use your paddle as the handle. Its quite comfrotable and you can adjust you hand along the paddle to find the balance point.

Problem solved.
This is by far the best method. Soon all boards will have these once people realise.
(C4 started it I think.)

No other method, hook, gadget will come near this.
- nothing to store
- simple
- proven
- cheap
- light weight
- stores your paddle also

the bomb....

Yep. Scotty, it's just a matter of time before they all do it - makes perfect sense to me and works a treat.

Hey Scotty.. great job with those leach plugs hidden under the deck grip of your new Naish Glide.

I might try and do the same with mine.. Did you take any pics during the precess?

Morning Robdog,
I have something similar to what Gorgo posted. I'll bring it over next time and you can see if it suits your needs.
The paddle can be attached to the straps. I'm pretty sure it would be more user friendly then the hook.

Nar, I never missed it, I was just a few bays to the north / west of you.

I'll be glad to get back to work to have a rest. (not really)
Out of the last 18 days I've SUP 15 mornings and kited 18 arvo's.
Just loading the kite gear and off again. I'm glad fuel is around the $1 mark at the moment.

Might see you tomorrow morning.

G'day UK Ian,
I'm on holidays at the moment. They get their pound of flesh during our winter, and I make up for it during our summer, pretty good arrangement.

OK Brooko, I might give tomorrow a miss then.
