Balmoral Paddle Surf is proud to sponsor the SUP section of this iconic race.

With over 500 entrants, over 40 SUPS expected and 1000's of spectators you can expect a race like no other.

A few of the crew did this race last year and got hit by a N'easter. This year the race has been put back to April with an earlier start to maximise favorible winds.

The race kicks off at 8am from Blues Point Park.
You will pass underneath the Harbor Bridge with the CBD towering around you.

Expect an atmosphere like no other!

Paddle past the Opera House, Fort Denison, Taronga Zoo and around spectaculer Bradleys Head. Swinging north, the race hugs the shoreline of the beautiful Sydney Harbor National Park before traversing in front of both North and South head to finish in front a huge crowd lining Manly Cove.

Large crowds are expected at the finish at Manly Cove.

Electronic timing so you know how you went.

Early bird entry is $60. PFD and leg rope mandatory.

SUP Prizes
1st Place OPEN - Full Carbon Hydro paddle
1st Place 12'6 - Quickblade FG adjustable paddle

Lookng forward to this one! Should be a great event!

11k's Billboard. The elite ski paddlers do it in about 45 mins.
1 hour plus for us depending on the current and wind.

Word of warning - don't do it in a nor easter like last year. 2 and half hours of tortue into a head wind!!

Great course and atmosphere for sure though - hanging to do it with a tail wind.

I think it's about 12 km.

Nice Pic with the yellow PSH and QB paddle AA

Yes, thoughtful shot goatie! DJ would be proud
You did well to also get the horizontal flags on top of the bridge

Yep that was a tough race last year, but we are betting that with an 8am start in late April the winds will most likely blow you down to Bradleys head and then you will be in the lee of Sydney Harbor National Park for the most of it. You cant count a N'easter out but it is unlikely

Lets hope not hey. Goaty is right last year was somewhat brutal, but all going well it will be southerly and favourable. Got a bunch of crew who are keen, some army guys too. Is a great atmosphere...carnage at the rolling start

last year was torture...

local roller derby girls beat newcastle and the afterparty was still going at 4am when I realised that I had to leave then or I wouldn't make the start

(which was delayed by nearly an hour anyway)

but besides the nightmare wind and hangover the torture continued

especially seeing nsw maratime ferrying straggling suppers from way behind and dumping them just inside the cove at manly so they could pretend to the spectators they paddled all the way, and then having some dude you seen get the free lift lord it over you cause he reckons he beat you

then being told you gotta find your own way back to blues point where you left your car cause there's no event organised return to start

the view is pretty spectacular though, but the water rats hassling me on the paddle back to blues point cause i took a breather outside kirrabilli put a further dampener to the feeling that i had just been reemed of sixty bucks
