Here's another Casso Sucker Cam video ... you guys must be getting sick of these by now.

This time I tried sticking it on the tail of my 11' Oxbow. I don't think I'll do that again - too much water washing over it.

I went out The Basin at Mona Vale - tiny little waves but peeling nicely along the reef with a gentle off-shore and the sun out. Only one other guy for the first 10 minutes then I had it to myself.

See how long this one wave is:

I would love to try this.

Can you feel the weight that much?

Nuh, Snake, I can't feel any difference in weight. It's a little off-putting knowing everybody is watching though.

Yer but u just edit the bad bits out.

Well that what i would do.

Reckon it would be alright for a 8'9 board?

Don't worry Jake - I definitely edit the bad bits out. It makes for a good bloopers reel though.

The shorter the board, the less you have in your field of view. You may need to get a camera with a wide angle lens - which will be a lot more expensive. I still don't think the weight will be too much of a problem.

Hey Casso, you make the basin look about half a mile long, instead of the 50ft it usually is. Great summer wave, the stronger the NE the bigger the surf. You probably see Dale out there, goofy footer chucking three sixties with his na-fined boards. I lved at Terrol for years when I was working for Shane, originally from Warriewood.

Yeah Rod, I know Dale. If the Basin is working, even remotely, he'll be out there - along with Derek Hynd - both on finless boards. Bean Lawrence and Bruce Channon will probablly be out there too.

It does get good when the NE swell is on ... and the wind is SW ... and the tide is high ... and it's a weekday so the crowds are down - so overall not very often really. Surfing it on a SUP makes its rideability window a little bigger though.

Terrol Cres is a great spot. I'm in Maxwell St now but grew up in Warriewood too.

Casso I was talking to Nod last night (dale), he's moved to Av and been out of the water for a few months, ankle again. I reckon Dale is the Godfather of finless surfing. Get him to show the supa8 movies from the 70's and 80's, all small finless stuff. Also get him to show D at JBay the latest stuff. He is coming up next week for his new shooters.
If your ever passing thru drop in, just 2mins off the HWY.
