hey guys

Got my new Fanatic 11' fly HRS.

My first SUP and at 120Kg this one seems alright.

I got a video, which a sped up to save an hour of people lives.

the new paddle has arrived today, I'll have to see the difference.

This is also an experiment in using the Go Pro and stuff

nice work FoS, you managed to stay very dry unlike my first SUP experience!

great idea ShireSUP, gravity really does work differently for us larger folk and it would be good for comparing notes on board performance from that perspective

im a 100kg tassie sup fanatic. i started out on a 11.6 nsp and after 18 months im on the new starboard 8.2 widepoint. its tippy and hard work but on a wave its worth the effort. keep at it and its worth the pain of learning

quick tip- square your feet up to the front of the board, not pointing outwards. you'll get a sore back doing what your doing

well done

cheers

count this heavyweight into the over 100 club. I would love to share experiences with similar large lads regarding just how small a board will hold us up. This must be the only form of surfing where a fairly sizeable number of its proponents are over 100 kg. As Im writing this my wife has walked in and told me to call it for what it is , a club for ageing old fat bastards, shes very supportive like that.

Hooray for the 100 plus club (108kg) Wait to you get amongst the waves FoS you will be stoked. I started out on an 11'6 Naish, I now have a 10ft McTavish and I also have a 12ft Starboard for fun small days and the odd downwinder. I think I use the 12ft 'er more as the fun factor is unreal

Quite a crew forming at the south arm/cremorne area. actually saw you heading out. will give you a yell next time and hook up for a paddle sometime. got about 12 months under the belt so might or might not be of some help.

I like cremorne beach.
Flat water without the oyster shells
you get around the place, like cremorne lagoon.

Let me know when greggyd.
I'll maybe get out most Arvos and weekend early mornings.
Sometimes when it's not too busy.
Not going to happen this week until may e Sunday morning

Great to see another Tassie SUP'er join the ranks. There seems to be a bit of a boom going on down south now! Are any of you coming looking for a wave on Bruny with us kite surfers this weekend?? I will only have a SUP (I am without kites until new ones arrive) so keen to get some waves in on the 9'5" wide point while I am down there.

Planning on getting over to bruny but not sure about logistics of doing it yet, many of you northerners heading down. only been there once before from memory and cloudy bay looked unreal for the SUP. Didn't have one then, so keen.

Sorry got the windsurfing beginner day on at Lauderdale on Saturday

Also really not upto surf yet, I tried Clifton in a 6inch swell and couldn't stand up at all. A couple of weeks/months yet.
