Just use normal electrical tape on the blade. It works fine

I don't like the finish of electrical tape on the paddle so I went with tape on the board rails.

For $16.00 at Bunnings, a mega roll (25 metres) of the weave style cloth tape in assorted colours will give you a great finish and protect the board for re-sale.

I do two layers, one high and one low on the rail with the centre section overlapped.

It's also known as '100 mile an hour' tape and 48mm wide in red, yellow, white, black, blue etc etc.

what i use is "super ding tape" just like normal ding tape for repairs but a lot thicker, cost about $30 a roll and a roll should be enough to to do both sides of a board from a couple of feet back from the nose to just past where you stand, looks like it will last for years, you can by it online, just do a search under "super ding tape"
