I am interested to know what model you are riding and what fins you are using in your board - if not the standard setup.

If you couldn't give a toss then MYOFB and don't make any comment. I ride an 8.10 suplove and have been experimenting with whatever fins I can borrow and I am very interested in whats working for other people.
Maybe Laurie could move my post over to the review/board talk area so that the general riff raff don't feel the need to get involved.

Nothing wrong with a little experimentation I am sure....even the "riff raff" have been known to indulge on suitable occasions

I ride a SupLove 10' 6" Escape and I put a set of Shapers S9 on it. Made a big difference.

I actually emailed stuart from suplove and he also runs a shortboard/thruster type setup but with smaller fins than the s9s but I can't get my head around thruster setups on sups being a stubborn longboarder used to bigger fins - however I am going to borrow some s9s and give it a crack - will let you know. Thanks hey - wouldn't have considered those fins as an option.

Its all good mate - he obviously has no idea of who I am either (may be worth a quick google search before he starts up on me again)

Geez the Makaraka Maffia must be seriously bad dudes - they even have 2 fs in maffia

When I was looking around I had a few conversations with Dan from Shapers. Dan was really helpful suggested the s9 setup. He also recommened a 6.5” with SKS-5” Sides

Yeah I have actually been running a shapers 6.5 with M3 sides and it has heaps of drive and great stability but the other day in small grovellers it felt really tight so am definately keen to try the S9s as you guys suggest.

Mate I am riding the red rail version and am stoked with the board. I've had some really crap paddlers on it and they have banged the bejeezus outta the rails and not a paint chip or any damage to be seen. I just wanna get some more time on it and get really comfy before tackling some more serious waves. How does the grom like the board compared to others he's ridden ?
