The board is carbon - black if left in it's 'finished' state.
Black attracts heat.

The off white is a light top coat to avoid the black / heat factor and only a 'light / half' coat to not add unwanted weight....they are extremely light and the wet rub brushed carbon finish has been around in sailboard / windsurf circles since the 90's.
Hide blemishes and repairs unreal too !
