Good surfing but I reckon we'll give them a run for their money when the tour comes to Australia.

I'd much rather watch you and a few big Hawaiian's throwing buckets of water in over head waves than watch 60kg kids flick boards around in knee high waves,
The kids rip but i know i'd much rather watch some proper turns go down
dogman style..

Too true. Big Dave did not look in his element out in that slop.

Kai was a step above looking at those selected highlights.

good old fashioned kiwi beer no less!!!!

I agree as well - certainly no disrespect intended (wd love to be able to SUP like those blokes) but I reckon I have seen blokes tear it up better than them over on this side of the world for sure.

Hey Dogman with ya on that one, I think that the boys from down under might just rattle a few of the favourites if they watch the trials.

Then hopefully a few of the internationals will stay and go straight to Corona.

Watching them pull into waves at spot x would be fun.

I don't want to appear to be knocking it, but... IMHO I don't like the use of so much paddle on the wave. There looks to be a lot of wave slapping going on. What is other's take on this ???

I agree the some aussie guys will def give them a run for their money but in saying that i've seen Kai sup in real life and OMG he is miles ahead of anyone i've seen, he is by far the best person on a sup on a wave i've ever seen.
I however also think that there are alot of aussie guys that would be nipping at his heels.

it all depends if they are really using the paddle to generate more leverage, power and/or speed
or is it just blatant paddle twirling

IMO when they preform a "paddle twirl" and dont hold the t grip and they have both hands on their shaft (sounding gay as) that just looks kookie to me

but in saying that it took me ages to get my head around it (sounding gay as)and now i'm being head hunted by the salvation army marching band to be their head batton twirler

yewwwwww paddle twirling
