Hi all, just wondering if there is already an offical SUP Club for Cronulla / Sutherland? If not I would like to start one up. Anyone interested in getting involved, please let me know.

Assume this might be Jappy from Southside Mal Club ?
Not that I know of, I had a session at The Alley last week and got lots of wierd looks but from what I hear there are a few 'nulla Sup'pers.
I'd be keen to lend a hand as I know you did some great stuff for Southside in your time as long as it was in the same vane being fun over super competitive.
I was thinking to start with just with a social club wher SUP'ers can get together and see what happens. Kind of like the the Last Man Standing (Longboard Crew at Cronulla). The Sydney Paddle Surf Club looks like a well run club but it looks like it mainly caters for the North Sydney folk.
I was thinking of a couple social paddles to start with, maybe on the Port Hacking River or Woronora River or even off Bonnyvale.

I'm doing a run up the Hacking from Audley to Grays Point in the morning if you'd care to join me for a paddle as the surf situation is so ****e right now.
It's just a cruise up and back and nothing to much like hard work.
So a SUP club for Cronulla / Sutherland looks like the go, we are having our meet and paddle this Sunday 10 January, 2010. All interested SUP'ers are welcome for a social paddle up the Woronora River with a BYO breakfast afterwards, electric BBQ's avaialble. We will be meeting at 7.00am at Burnum Burnum Sanctuary, located on River Road nearest cross Prince Edward Park Road, UBD Reference map 312, G13(the park under the Woronora River Bridge), near the boat ramp. There is heaps of parking and a sandy beach. Hope to see you there. Call Peter on 0418 294 854 if you need more information.
With only a small turn out of 3 for the first Hoku-ke'a (Southern) Stand Up Paddle get together at the Woronora River in Sutherland today, this will no doubt be remembered as the first of many like meetings pencilled in for the future.
With SUP'ping so popular and only getting stronger, I dare so I numbers will be five fold before we know it and with such a beautiful coast to be explored, many laughs and fun times ahead !
Here's some shot's from this mornings paddle on a stunning Sunday on 'The Wonny'.

We talked about our next get together being in The Hacking at either Audley or Grays Point and we'll post some details up with plenty of notice, we've also got options at Como, Sylvania, Bundeena etc etc so lots of exploring not to mention some of the worlds best beaches from Cronulla thru the Natio and Coal Coast.
