Waited for a Kwad since march got a hundred different stories , don't know whats going on in the JL camp but they lost me . Tried 9'5 Hokua last week and that was it , did a deal with the boys from Mount Surf Shop , I'm sure they need some sales not good when you have a major oil spill on your Coast Thought I would post this before gizzie started howling he's making noises about getting one to. First Naish I'm sure DJ will be impressed

Yes I did try one too & was equally impressed.....much stabler than your average 135 litre board & yet still fun & frisky to ride Will save my pennies & see if a second hand one pops up perhaps.....although still want a 12' Laird Pearson (funny how we always want another board lol)
Here he is at the point this morning....probably too far away to get much detail unless you can zoom in.....but it was the best of my photo efforts (too busy catching waves)
May be I've had too meany but thats coming to an end said to wife I was down to 3 SUPs , but all she could say was she can still count 6 boards on the rack in the garage , just can't please some people gee I sold my boat.
If you keep them long enough you can call it a "classic surf collection" which I'm sure will appreciate in value some day?? Bummer about the JL Qwad but the Hokua looks great.
Hi Andrew very happy with Hokua it's pretty loose as a Thruster havn't tried as Quad yet

There was a bit of reorganisation of the JL supply chain over winter. All sorted now. Aust distributor is Kracka Surf if you are looking for a local retailer. Kite Surf SUP (woodys & scarbs) has them in stock; & on demo; in WA.
I have had Wayne (new JL Guy Redhead Newcastle) lend me a SUP and he seems to be the one to help u go to him direct and I doubt if u will be disapointed.
Hi Guys don't doubt that those people are very good & they have stock , but I live in NZ my problem I know when you order somthing & get told it's three months away then keep being told they will be here soon , then we get eight months down the track to find it's not even been ordered . In this time they have dispatched one distributor in Austraila and stocked another one and I'm told there is production problems? Give me a break . So I'm sure the new distributors in Austraila and the old one for that matter are doing a great job , the same can not be said NZ

Kwads both 9'1 and 8'7 at Supgear Australia, Terry Hills. Super fun boards.
+1 A friend and myself have both had excellent service from Linda and Steve at Supgear Terry Hills. I know they have JL Kwads in store
Hey Towball, that suck's about your wows and a loss to the JL camp. I've passed the NZ concerns to Jimmy. Hopefully he can sort this out. i know there are no problems at the factory, the quality is only getting better. Regards Wayne @ Kracka
I'm riding the 9' Hokua, it looks exactly the same shape as the 9'5 to me. Sweet allround board and a good balance between stability and shortboard surfability. It is gutting though to have most of our local beaches closed from the oil spill from that frigging container ship wrecked on the Astrolabe reef.
You guys are welcome down here had a couple of yous out at the point on Sunday

I feel really sorry for you guys. Its a real tragedy. Hope you get the beaches back faster than we did in Christchurch.
