There's heaps of flouro and bright wetties in the ranges of all of the companies again now.

These groms who are too young to remember the 80's think all of this stuff is cool, I was saying to my wife the other day as I remember it that just after flouro and the Oakley frogskins period came the Eddie Vedder long hair early to mid 90's. Just as I said it a group of young guys with tight black jeans, band shirts and long hair came along. Throw backs, I wish I had a photo of myself in '93 to show them. Identical!

They are just reliving a time line and feeling as cool as %^& doing it!

Geez some of the above pics bring back my 80's memories. I had a flouro green and yellow short john which I am sad to claim was custom made. Went well with my flouro green board! The worst though was my mate who had a white short john, everyone in the line up gave him the 'Milky Bar Kid' jibe plus the white never stayed bright and looked wee stained yellow after a while, funny as.

One day back in the mid eighties while windsurfing down at Pt Ormond (Elwood) I got asked to stand in the background of a photoshoot for a motorscooter ad..

Thats actually an old school loud wetsuit as proudly worn by Ocean Groves Honorary Mayor and purveyor of fine surf craft, fashion and ephemera the one the only Murf. If you look closely you will see a Piping Hot logo on the upper sleeve. To the best of my knowledge they havent been in the wetsuit business for quite some time. Murf picked that one up at a garage sale for a ridiculous amount, like twenty five bucks or thereabouts and its been his go to sh.t stir suit ever since. Besides which, if you surf like Murf, you can get away with just about anything.
