I looked to the weather experts the night before and the wind was strong but a little too much west in it, DJ rang me and said there was a crew going surfing in the morning, and asked if I'd go down, I was half keen.
But the fact is, I slept in.
It was cold, my bed was warm and I had my little dog curled up besides me.
I wonder how those guys got on.
We just played on the waves at Flinders (Piggies) on the big DW boards.. ![]()
It was sunny one minute and cold wet and windy the next.. ![]()
Still good fun.

...and Cam, Brendan and I got some waves at Atlas early, before the paddle at Flinders.
Goes to show you that you can never really tell what it's going to be like until you get down there. I was also going to pull the pin when I got up (v early) and saw the wind etc, but Cammo and Brendan were already on the road at 5:00am, so I thought I should honour the arrangement and go. When I got to Shoreham there was almost no wind and it was offshore. So we got clean little waves with very few others out for about 3 hours before the wind came up. Was fun.
