Great race, great organisation, and weather was 100% perfect.

Everybody had a ball, and a real great social crowd, great vibe.

What a fantastic day and everyone that I spoke to said they really enjoyed it. A few of the women actually said they found it quite 'empowering' to know they can now paddle 5km without it killing them. So I think the womens division is in for quite a substantial increase in numbers and a few plans were made for more social/fitness paddles.

I have to thank Luke Jenkins and Greg Kerr for their help in organising the event, but I think regardless of how well it was organised the weather played a major role. Sunny, 29-30' and a slight tail wind only problem was that the dolphins showed up half an hour early to the start line. Thanks to all the volunteers who also helped out on the day.

It was great to see such a response and turn out to the presentations which helps in building the social community of SUP in WA. Infact some were so social they were still there almost 6 hours after the race had finished!

Thought I would throw this up for anyone who is interested. I know Stimo had a top speed of 16km/hr on his 16ft DC with a bit of help from a boat wake, unfortunately I didn't get any assistance from boats. My problem was I was paddling up hill with an apparent elevation gain of 129m!

I can't view your info Cam, I know this issue has come up before with people posting GPS info, must be something in the settings.

"You do not have sufficient privileges to view the activity with id 225340497."

Paddling uphill has gotta be hard even with wind assistance, I reckon when I reached the peak I would have turned around and downhill carved all the way back to the bottom.
