In Oahu Hawaii they just had the 'Hennessey Race' and they had about 184 paddlers.. ..(That's a mix of SUP'ers and lay down paddlers)...That's huge.

That guy in the center of the pic with his black cap on backwards and white and yellow board has the best possie..imo..and the best view..

Check out how long that red SUP is..

Jake..You should know it all comes down to fitness.. ..Well a bigger part than what board IMO.

When we had our race I got beaten by a guy on a wally windsurfer..But then it was the 'Flock'...(Dave)..He's a fitness animal.

That vid of the race was pretty good.

About mid way as they went past Sunset did you see how short his paddle was (Brendan Bradley)..and how bent over he was..Jeez that would kill me.

Most of them look like lay down or kneeling paddlers on oversized boards. Pretty crap conditions. Love how Americans pronounce words like bouy.

I'm shocked that after 7 miles, a paddler using his hands beats a stand-up paddler using a large paddle. I love this sport, but it makes you wonder why we spend hundreds of dollars on a fancy paddle when we could just use our hands.

7 miles is just a warm up for Jamie Mitchel.

The Kalama brothers took out the Molokai channel race last weekend on a SUP board beating home Australian Jamie Mitchell on a prone board. Race was 52mile and was no easy paddle. A big congrats to 'Iron Phil' from QLD who came in 4th place in the individual paddle.
This event is considered the unofficial world title of paddle races.

DOH! you've done it again DJ. Slater Trout was the one who is gonna have back problems later in life....not young BB. And you will probably find he was bending down to side push the paddle to steer the board around the bouy as he has no rudder........
