hey Breezers,

Heading to Thailand this week for the first time. Will be in Bangkok for a few days then 10 days in Koh Samui. Would like to line up a paddle or something when I'm there and figure I must be a chance as some boards are apparently made there.

My friend is the Starboard distributor and we will try and visit the factory which is in Bangkok I think, but was wondering if anyone knew much about Koh Samui? ie do they get waves or are there good places to flat water SUP and can you hire them there?

Still tossing up whether I should take my paddle...

Cheers for any advice

Take your paddle.. I think there's a lake right next to the Starboard factory.. You might even bump into Svein..

This is Svein..

You could try here: phuketwindsurfing.com/ It's a windsurfing shop, but they also rent SUPs.
Also, for general info on surfing try; www.saltwater-dreaming.com/index.htm
Last time I checked they didn't have any SUPs, but were looking into it. They may have rentals by the time you arrive.
