Another great day today with better waves.

Apart from hurting my back it was a awesome day.

Im sure JB or sumone will post sum more pics of today.

Just was on a wave and the it died out so i just jumped off the back of it and came up and my back was hurting, i couldnt stand up and paddle without it hurting.

But Angie thinks its just a knot in one of my muscles so hopefully it unties itself soon

Looks like a fantastic day - I love seeing the different age groups that your event attracted - fun for everyone. Well done guys.

yeah it was good today scored some nice waves on my patched up board , i tried to take some video today but it didnt turn out so good.I might post it any way so you all can have a laugh.The water did look great expecially with all those big yellow boards.

Post it if you can..there's no standard requirement..

What was everyone's thought on the board's?

A big thanks to JB, Jacko, Angie, Marty, Steve and others who helped put together the BBQ yesterday, its great to see whole families getting into the sport, even Mrs Dover senior got her backside wet.
One thing however I did notice that with weekend was the need to ensure that when the guys go out demo'ing, they need to be made aware of the "rules" ... especially 1. Keep away from the surfers by sitting wide, do not go through the pack, 2. Respect the fact that this is not your equipment, don;t put it in situations where the chances for damage are overly great, 3. Don't turn and paddle for EVERY wave ...... shrieking "Party Wave Party Wave" ... 4. Take the whitewater ... don't paddle for the shoulder unless your absolutely sure your gonna clear it in time and be out of the way for any one on it. 5. An most importantly, don't get SUP lessons from Marty unless you have an icepack and first aid kit handy.

Just wrong It seems that you are "just right" with that post you hit the nail on the head we need to blend in and share the waves around and try not to "over" dominate[}:)] I say "over" because we "are" dominating at the moment Out of a four wave set on the weekend a least two more likely three of the waves where being enjoyed by an SUP and good luck to us! We have taken ourselves out of our comfort zone to be begginers again, most of us surfed prior to the SUP uprising which mind you has only just begun! So we will need to set the standards for etiquette and a fair go for all the new comers this summer. the surfer who just wants to exist the way he is now,well its his right even if he is 120kg and riding a 5'6" fish floundering around trying to catch the white wash he may verywell think that is fun and SUP is crap!! so let him catch the white wash and nose dive, catch the next "wave" man , any way to get back on track it's a great sport and we have a great place to do it with not much aggro at the moment which is great ,but it is up to us to keep law and order for as I have already said we are dominating out there at the moment , Well Marty is anyway !!!

Wooooooooo lads ... meant demo riders just starting out ..... once the confidence and skill ability yep for sure, mix it up with the Mals and Shortboarders in the pack but not when someone is out on a 11'6 for the first time and is having difficulty keeping upright let alone cranking a turn.
Jacko .. you know my shortcomings buddy ... any wave I paddle for all ya have to do is talk to me or point that freaking camera at me and that's it ... splash, wish I could do more than 1 thing at a time!!!
As for dolphins .... I hate when the relatives drop in unexpected! BTW, if I hear one whale dropping in joke.

Plenty of good waves to be had on the shoulder for a sup , i noticed a bit of aggro at the alley on Sunday , not the sup guys but the long boarders short boarders.
The biggest issue i think with sups is when it is crowded and it is big , if you loose control of a sup it can cause havoc.Also when it is big it is quite easy to loose control expecially paddling out through the break , theirs no way you can control your board when you are getting pounded by a big shore break.Iagree sup,s have as much right as any water craft to catch a wave but common sense must prevail at a crowded spot.Personally i find it hard to actaully pull of a wave if some one is on the inside with such a large board expecially if the lip is a bit steep it just catches the big board.If sup takes off i think their could be major dramas at crowded breaks.It really struck home on Sunday i caught a nice wave and their where prone guys every where in front of me and i was thinking at the time i hope i dont fall or some one is going to get hurt.I would hate to be hit by a sup.

You guys are right surf to your ability, big board and not so good at turning then maybe the shoulder is the best spot. One thing i have learned from kiteboarding is it doesn't matter how many times you tell people to stay out of the flags they still go straight though them and SUP's will prob be the same some people do want they want and don't care about anything else which makes everyone look bad and there's nothing we can do about it. As long as we keep it fun it should stay that way for some time to come.

I'm sure bendover will say something about the whale out wide on that day

Yer i think it was Karma how i hurt my back.

The whale wasn't sitting wide like it usually does. This time it snuck up to the point and i dropped in on it.

Now im suffering.
