I am going up to Cresent after christmas should I take my 9'6 Naish or will I cause to much tension in the water. Want to ride cresent do not want to cause trouble what do you think has anyone ridden uo there on the SUP. Thanks Rod

Mate if you worry about upsetting some people you will never use your Sup.Just give the prone guys space and respect and enjoy yourself , its not your problem if their not.I was out the other day in crap conditions about 4 or 5 other surfers and i was the only one catching waves and the only one with a smile on my dial , apart from the kids learning to surf.

Hey Rodkite, it gets pretty crowded at Crescent - I was the first out one morning at 5.30am and it was 12 knots on shore and I still had to share with 20 others!!!

My advice - if it is too busy there are HEAPS of breaks north and South. Point Plommer to the South and Scotts head to the north - both rock and are nowehere near as crowded!!

Unless your an absolute shredder I would keep away from "regional classics" you just wont enjoy it as much, having to compete with 30 surfers,stink eye,and hassling, paddle up to an uncrowded lesser wave, you will enjoy it more

rodkite,if you can handle the Naish well,i would paddle out and start with the crumbs,paddle towards the inside every 5 or so minutes with a smile,make chat with the biggest local out there,they will respect you in time!Thats my option,always worked for me when out of town!Oh, me, not a SUPer!

I agree! If you go out at somewhere like Crescent Head on a good day - the chances are you wont enjoy yourself. The beauty of StandUP is that you can get away and not have to mix it up with the crowds

Pick your days, pick your spots and if you do decide to hit Crescent - be the very first one out!!

I found some pics of Billy at Crescent on his website so this might change ur mind about taking ur SUP or not.

trust me iv been there and i went for a week the 7 days that we were there and we got awsome waves in the morning for short boards midday we had awsome waves for the mal and the afternoon the guys were out on sups. take every board u can[}:)]
