nice barrell. note how easy his bottom turn 'into' was. he had his back foot inside and front foot across the opposite outside- working the diagonals.
cheers

Casual is an understatement , I'd say the board is the 8-9 or 8-11 Ripper

Interesting comment LL i played it back to see exactly were his feet were as i'm trying to improve my riding then i read your comment about were is front foot was and didn't notice it was a little right of center, am i to take it that when going into a bottom turn your front foot should be of left or right of center opp to the way you are turning?

When he takes off he is very diagonal as he just comes out of paddle stance. End of barrel he has front foot in middle back on the inside rail. Stance is good for bottom turn and barrels. If you want to cutback back foot moves back and to opposite rail, the front foot can stay in the middle.

Back foot moves a lot front a little so you end up with diagonals. On a real narrow high performance custom like doggie and goatee ride less movement needed.

yep, what hillie says. on a shortboard it becomes heel/toe or toe/heel according to which way you are turnng. its a little hard to get used to doing first up, but after a while it will become more natural.

stop the vid just as he reaches the bottom, its pretty clear. his front balances out the board and himself and he uses it as a guiding factor.

Wow! Casual as they come!
That is Blueline Paddlesurf, 'tube master' Brian Gilbert on a 89 Ripper.

Nice shots of foot positioning, as well!
