We are back at Palm Beach this time and we will either be somewhere near Elephant Rock (southern end) or up a bit past the North Palmy SLSC, depending on the wind and banks.

Here is a rough schedule for the day:

- 7:30 am - Setup, competition entries accepted
- 8:00 am - Cut off for surfing competition entries, heats drawn up for surfing competition
- 8:20 am - Round one of surfing competition starts
- 10:00 am - Round two of surfing competition starts
- 11:00 am - Final of surfing competition starts
- 11:30 am - Women and junior divisions paddle race starts
- 12:00 am - Open division paddle race starts
- 12:30 pm - Presentation

Looking at the forecast early, I'd say we'll be at Elephant rock.

Bummer it wasn't on last weekend, Palmy was puming.

Look forward to seeing you all there....

Shame about the swell forecast - it doesn't get much smaller than that. Hopefully things will be more promising by the end of the week. No excuses for all those grommets, ladies and beginners who have been thinking about competing.

We may need to shuffle the schedule around a bit to cater for the conditions - eg. maybe have the race first during the high tide.

When have they ever got it right with the forecast??? It'll probably be 6 foot and pumping again

I'm working on getting my weight down below 90kg for the event, sick of getting smashed in small surf by the light weights.

Casso, only thing with moving the race is you might put the waves in more wind. Even though the forecast says offshore, most likely at palmy it will go SE. This far ahead I always accelerate the forecast, seems to be pretty much how it pans out. However if it is NW, and we could be bothered walking, maybe a Joey session would be on? Even though small, would be a great peak to own early, and awesome for pics and vid off the rocks. I think we're going to be competing for a peak with the Mal comp also, so get there early and claim a spot! I suggest getting the tent up early, and making it very clear before the 100 mals arrive that we are competing.

What comp? Palm Beach Longboarders don't have their comp on the second Sunday of the month - I checked with them before we set the date. Have they changed it or is it a different comp?

That'd be a way to make SUPers particularly unpopular if Joey is on.

loco4olas why would that make sups more disliked? there are about a three or four peaks up that end of the beach and casso dosnt normal choose to run the comp on the main peak anyway and is not like we go out and be assholes love your positive coments champ!

Talking about the Joey, champ-not Palmy generally.

I like jedijunglsno's idea-why not the Wedge? Or Off Rocks? Or, North Narra? It's a big beach-no need to invade The Joey.

LOL, don't make SUP become disliked so go to the Wedge or Nth Av/Off Rocks???? I think the Joey would be fine as long as we set up there early/first. No one would walk the beach if they saw 15 SUP's there! But the real question is dowe want to walk all the gear up there. Practically I think claiming the far north carpark is the go (like the mal comp does) and using one of the three peaks straight out the front.

Been discussing an idea for the race, which looks like it will happen.

Race length is about 3.5kms. There is a chase boat for support. Pending conditions on the day.
