conditions are looking really nice. Looking forward to seeing everyone up there showing their stuff.. We have some great prizes on offer from the 10+ sponsors/supporters - Naish, Wind Surf and Snow and Balmoral Boards...but you have to pre-register before the day to be in the hunt for them :)

are the one-off members eligible for prizes? or do you need to be a full member?

I'm in. Let's hope I don't get fined again for letting my parking ticket lapse for 10 mins while in a heat.

Entries for the day are eligable for the prize. I understand that Balmoral is putting up a Paddle and/or a voucher of some kind are Naish and Windsurf n Snow are putting together to supply a Naish Wave LE paddle valued at $499.00. Let's hear what you would like the prizes given for, so far I have thought of,
- Style award (which was given last event).
- best single wave of the day.
- Most improved over the coarse of the day.
- Best Female ride (not implying that the girls would not win the 2nd one).
- Heaviest wipeout.
- longest noseride.
Thanks for your comments.
Ride safe,
See you Sunday.

Don't forget to pre-register, all the heat draws will be done up based on the entries as at 5pm Friday including the second round so registrations on the day will not work (there is some tricky maths to try make it so no one surf's up against the same person more than twice through out the series).
So head now to https://spsc.tidyclub.com/public/events/1503-spsc-14-15-10-contest-2 now and enter.

Lujeph, this might be an option for some of the prizes as there are so many for just a club comp.
Rego's are pouring in and it looks like we'll have a full draw. The weather is constantly changing, and for the better for us. the banks at North Palmy where great yesterday when I surfed there. Fast walling lefts with the occasional barrel to the north and a nice A-Frame out the front of the usual far north car park location. So as long as the wind holds of we'll be there (not that a little wind will upset the 10'+ class).
A last time reminder that you do need to pre-register! The format we have adopted here uses minimal man power on the day, all heats in both rounds are pre-allocated (there is no progression, just points accumulation.). I am also trying to ensure that we do not surf up against the same people if possible (I know this is a tough ask, but I am willing to try make it work. Please note this does not apply for the women, sorry girls, apart from changing all your names, I just can't do it!).
The point score system collates all scores for each judge (not just a total of all judges like normal), this gives you a more direct result from what the judges actually scored you on. For example, if 2 of the 3 judges scored you in 2nd place and the final judge put you in 1st place, then your score for that heat would be 2 x 8pts (for 2nd) + 10pts (for 1st) = 26pts. Out of the 2 rounds you will be scored out of a total potential of 60 (i.e. 3 x 1st places over 2 x heats/rounds). The scoring goes 1st = 10pts, 2nd = 8pts, 3rd = 6pts, 4th = 4pts, 5th = 2pts and 6th = 1pt.
!!!MOST IMPORTANTLY!!!!!!
This is a "FUN" event. SPSC along with it's sponsors Wind Surf n Snow, Balmoral Paddlesurf and Naish Australia adopted the 10'+ division to create an event that was fun and exciting both to participate and watch to all members, increasing participation to all and in general have a great get together. The beauty of the Longboards style is those little freaks can't (well not yet anyway) go throwing airs all over the place and Longboards are all about style and technique, which makes it gender and size irrelevant .Good sports personship and wave etiquette are expected at all times. Legropes and coloured rash vest must be worn at all times during the event. Judgeing is also schedueled, so do not disappear after your heat, we need everyone to judge!! This way we don't hammer the usual suspects and everyone gets a go. If we have a full draw you will only be judging once the whole day, obviously if it's a little lean then some may have to go twice.
Looking like a huge morning. With all the pre-registrations done and a speedy set up and pack down, we should be all done by 11am.
Look forward to seeing you all there, don't forget to register......

Are you going to post the draw once entries close?
