The SKIFFIES TWILIGHT PADDLE is back !
with support from Windsurf and Snow
Last friday night we had a small but hardy band of paddlers take on the 12 - 15 knot southerly breeze on Middle Harbour.
Sam elected to torture them with a 2 lap short course . Start at the club to top of Clontarf beach into the breeze and then a nice downwind run to the Spit bridge turning mark. Back in to the club around a turning mark off the beach then do it all again with a finish at the club on the beach. Distance was 4.3 kms average speed was around 8kmh and first home was Andy at 29 minutes.
After wards a few beers and a sausage on the deck to discuss the paddle and the new boards that seem to appear every week.
A big thanks to all the paddlers and the boys from down south who made the trip from the steel coast.
The next paddle will be in 2 weeks on the 10th November
Start will be 6.20
Distance will be around 5kms for SUPS or 40 minutes
Course is Weather dependent so no Bitching
All welcome including Skis and OC 1s
$10 non members
Free for members
Life Jackets are mandatory
Entry fee includes a beer and sausage post race
Parking at the Spit is free after 6 pm
