Hey David,
As your aware Kristi had the good fortune to stay with Sam, Sepa, Riggs and co at Noosa for a week this year.
(Thats my discalimer so lets get it out the way)I agreed for my 14yr old daughter (as a dad you can imagine it wasnt easy decision) to stay with all the boys because I wanted her to surf with and learn from some of the best in the world in her age group.
From first hand experience I can tell you that Kristi learned more in that week about how to improve her SUPing than she had learned in six months.
If people on the breeze remember we put up a video after Noosa and everyone said how much she had improved, well we simply worked on what they suggested and we still are.
They took Kristi out to surf breaks like the Boiling Pot etc that she would never have tackled on her own in those conditions.
Even though she got woop assed seriously a few times she totally loved the experience an it did a huge amount for her confidence.
Sepa and Riggs dont just like to SUP, they live it and surf from 6am until its dark and then they go home and think about it some more. Its thier whole life.
If your a beginner or a comp surfer, I dont think it matters how old or young or good or bad you are if you get to learn from or surf with guys like this you will improve.
Call it a wank rave post but thats what I believe, I have personally seen the resultsPhill
