Ahhhh, actually I think Drouin came from Queensland originaly. Featured in some of the Bob Evans epics of the sixties and was the holder of numerous State and National Junior titles and I think at one stage even won the Senior and Junior Queensland Titles in the same year. He charged Hawaii and was in the mix at the start of the pro surfing era. What he is probably most famous for is devising the man on man judgeing system and being the organiser of the first Stubbies comp in the late seventies at Burliegh where MP played out his swansong by pipping a rampant, twinny riding MR in the final in epic draining waves at the point. Absolute extrovert showman par excellence, kinda like Australia's answer to Mickey Dora. So yeah, he's not just a pretty face.
