So I've had a Naish Nalu 11'4 for the past few years. Great fun board and a good allrounder.
I'm now looking at getting a 14' race board for race, ocean, DWs would like it to be fairly stable not sure what to get (budget $2200). So far I have been able to demo the Angulo Shaka (AST only) and Naish Glide and they seem nice but I have nothing to gage from.
Other boards I am looking at are Coreban Alpha (maybe bit tippy in chop?), DC14 (these look sweet but maybe over my budget), Hobie Elite 14' (?), 14' Orca (could be a cheaper option) or Fanatic Fly Race ($?).
Weight = 105kg.
Interested in any feedback on these boards or other models I may be missing.
Thanks.
I would second MadKiter's query. Very similar situation - paddled & surfed early model Southpoint Timpone for last 4+ years.Very keen to get into DW & racing. Similar budget too, a little lighter @ 90kgs
. So, any suggestions would make us both happy!!
Cheers
Let the pimpathon begin.
I pick up a new DC14 early next week, excited about that.
If I wasnt getting a DC14 I would be on the Lahui Kai Orca.
I have paddled both and like them and I guess I like talking to the people that make the boards. With both of these boards you can speak directly to the designer and for my money that is a part of the value of getting a new board.
Thanks CMC. What price range is the DC 14'? Dale seems to make impressive boards and they are raved about on this site.
I like the look of the Orca, but wonder about stability, especially on runners.
