This the final hit out before the big one - The 20 Beaches. See:
http://online.oceanseries.com.au/pages/oceanseries-events/dd3-queenscliff-challenge.php

It is not likely to be a downwinder, but we will make the course interesting based on the conditions on the day - maybe a little wave action to mix it up

Note: "wearing" PFDs is compulsory unfortunately. You will not be eligible for pointscore prizes or prizemoney in the 20Bs if you do not wear them - so no bumbags - sorry, not my rules...

On the pointscore, it is you best 3 races with the 20 Beaches having double points. So this is the last chance for you to put yourself in the frame if you are not there already. Winner of each category gets a flight to the Doctor in Jan 2013:

Here is the points update based on best 2 races. If you think i have it wrong - PM me:

The Merimbula crew are now accustomed to Coronas after a paddle so we'll all be back ready to kick on after. And big Mal now likes to dress up when he paddles so Kissa needs to add a fancy dress category.

Kissa, for the point score "Baby Cakes" is Evan Green. Someone was having fun with his entry form. (Not me) Don't know if that makes a difference to his ranking.

I'm back from Merimbula and looking forward to this one.
Also keen for an arvo downwinder or 2 if the wind comes up in the next couple of days and anyone's going?

Tough 45 minutes this one. Not alot of swell but so much chop and paddling into a headwind. Thanks to Queenscliff Surf Club for the beers and food after the race. A great way to socialise post race. Even AA made an appearance.
A big mention to Neelie, Ben, Angie and Mal who once again travelled all the way down from the Central Coast just to support this series. Also Ali Cat from Qld.
Congratulations to Sam Parker who zig zagged all the way down wind looking for the bottom buoy just so the rest of us could see where to go. How does he paddle so fast???
Now we all just need to make up our minds about the 20 Beaches.....How far is that Kissa?

Just looked on Google earth and I reckon the course was only about 5km (for everyone except Sam) - but a slow 5km. Sam probably paddled 6km

Just do it John - you are a shot at the over40 prize so have crack. I will update the pointscore in the next few days so you can work out the numbers. From the results it is pretty clear who is now in the frame for trips to the Doctor

You're doing the 20 Beaches John. You don't want the ribbing you'll get if you don't. Would be a tough year waiting to redeem yourself.
Going to start hassling Luke tomorrow also.

Thanks Sienna - I'll do it if your Dad does it....though I have a feeling peer pressure will force me to do it anyway.
