What a fun day

Conditions were not perfect but the sun was out and wind was helpful. OVerall, we had 20 starters...our biggest field yet...

Lou, thanks for the photos. I will bring my camera next time and take stick it in my PFD. Some photos of the start with the cliffs in the background and the Carribean clear water would have been awesome.
The results are up:
http://online.oceanseries.com.au/pages/event-results.phpTheir are a couple of category mistakes that I will get fixed up later.
I think the highlight was having a competetive Womens Race. We had 4 starters (which is 2 better than our best so far). All quality paddlers. Terrene and Alison had a great battle. Di would of have been near the front had she not missed the start by 10 minutes. Terrene and Alison will be battling each other for the overall series win at the 20 Beaches - and a trip to do the Doctor in Perth.
As usual, the mens race was close. In the unlimited, at the half way mark, Sam, Pete, Chucky and Dave were all together. Fortunately for me, Sam graciously lent me the Starboard Ace for the race (as I damaged my Starby the day before) and as the runs cleaned up on the way home, it just took off. Unfair advantage - sorry guys...
The 12'6 class was competitive with Steve just pipping Josh (Josh, need to fix results - sorry) with Lou coming in third on pretty little JL thing (see photo above).
Many thanks to the out of towners who made the effort to come and race. Good to see Simon Dodd have a crack on his C2 14ft Tiger weapon.
The next race is 26 November (2pm race start). Again, we will have a modified SUP course...around 10km (instead of the 16km for the skis). If it is NE, the run will be fantastic. If it is southerly, haven't worked it out yet...watch this space.
Cheers...Dave
