If any Sydney guys and gals are keen to race these guys put on a good show and would love to have more SUP's involved. Details below as sent to me by Dez.

10km may seem long if you haven't done many races before so Dez suggested they could easily put on a short course 5km version if enough people are interested and don't stress about the RSVP as there should be plenty of food regardless.

Also if you're keen to try some race kit on the day just let me know and I'll stock the van with what I can.

Sam.

Pittwater Blast "launch" race & BBQ - Sat 12th March 2011 - 10km time trial

We'd like you to be part of the inaugural Pittwater Blast launch - as always the first race will be a group
start ( scratch ). We're putting on a BBQ with food and drinks after the race. So bring the whole family,
it is going to be a huge fun morning for all.

All paddlers welcome, Surf Skis, Kayaks, Outrigger Canoes, Stand Up & Prone Paddle Boards etc.

Please RSVP YES or NO by Friday lunch time by reply email, so we know how much food to buy.

Balmoral Blast & Narrabeen Blast will not run this weekend:

There won't be a Blast at Balmorl or Narrabeen this weekend. We would like everyone to come be part
of the Pittwater Blast launch this Saturday.

Please make the effort to come be part of this exciting
new Blast site launch, we'd really love your support - there will only ever be one 1st Pittwater Blast ;-)

Thanks Sam. I'll be there. I can also bring an extra race board if someone would like to try it out. 10KM - ouch - that could hurt - especially with Pete Morgan delivering the hurt on the Jav. cheers Dave

Hi Guys Just curious. How long would a 10km paddle take? Time taken from experts down to old blokes. I went for a leisurely 10km paddle a couple of months ago and it took over 3 or 4 hours I think, not exactly sure tho. That was just cruising along but going against the breeze for the first half. I remeber it was a long paddle. Just wondering as I don't want to come in an hour behind the last paddler if I enter. cheers

BigMac = fast guys will take about 1 hr 10mins I guess. Cruisers should do it in 1.30.
Casso = I think Sam is bringing up a couple of the new fanatics so check with him.
