Here are a few pic's of my first go at SUPing and the naish 11'6. Its taken me a while to work out how to post photos so hopefully this works.




It was a pretty hot day and slight offshore breeze and if you could see my face you would of seen a grin from ear to ear.

Feel free to give me some tips on my technique because other than the forum i have no-one to ask.

Hey DJ,

Its a small river system that branches off The Spencer Gulf (the reason theres no surf for a few hours) it has a habour where we get ships that transport ore and pick up lead that the local smelter produces. (my place of employment)

Im only using wax at the moment because i cant bring myself as yet to spoil the look of the wood grain finish. Maybe later when i get sick of thedirty wax look.

My feet dont get too saw yet but i do wear the ripcurl booties at the moment which is more comfortable and is providing good grip actually.

There is some nice coast line not to far up the road which i will be exploring in the next couple of weeks and hopefully ill have some more photos for you guys.

You guys will soon find out that wax it not the way to go..and it's not so much about the grip or hassle that wax is..but the comfort..Your feet will hurt on long paddles.

Until you get deck pads..you should try Crocs..They are very soft in the sole and very cumfee for long paddles..They only cost $49 .. (btw there are plenty of cheap copys of Crocs for about $10-$20)

The only problem is they don't work too well in the surf..they can come off..But they do have a style now for water use that don't come off..I just bought some for my daughter.

Booties or Crocs are really necessary if paddling over reef, coral..or even when you don't know what's down there..It's like Murphy's law when you really don't want to fall in.

Feet cuts are no fun at all..and will keep you out of the water.

I was also looking at the starboard 11'2 with the eva deck but

because i was always seem to working when the demo's were on and 6 mths of

waiting to get a board i just went with what i had got the best feedback from and

so far i am not dissapointed.

Let us know how your fist ride goes. Pic's would be great too if possible.

Yep no worries. I dont have roof racks but Im gonna pick up my SUP board tomorrow. Dont ask me how Im gonna get it home? I dont care if I have to carry it home
Will try and get some pics too. I have water proof camera but will need to find someone who is willing to take happy snaps...

It's simple - get yourself a long wheelbase Delica - my 11'2 custom Stonker custom fits in the back (and the front).

If you make it to SB for a paddle I'll drag the Mrs down to take some pics from the beach. Sunday is looking good - in a no wind sort of way!!

Hey I got the Starboard carbon paddle.
Got the Rola Racks put on the car and picked up my new Starboard 11'2.
Totally stoked with it and so are the wife and kids
We took it straight to the marina for a paddle and I just couldnt get my 2 year old boy off it! My 5 year old daughter is still a little scared of the whole water thing. At first they both laid down on the front of it and I paddled around. Then once my daughter got off my son stood on the nose of the board and walked back to me and stood at my feet while we paddled around the marina looking at all the boats and chasing the seagulls. Both of us were stoked and will be getting into the waves this weekend with it. My wife also had a paddle and enjoyed the potenial of spending time together as a family
Its a super stable board and even with a child on the nose it still paddle extremely well. Didnt even fall in. Its really loose too. Paddling into the wind was a challenge which is expected but paddling downwind it was super fast! Im yet to try putting the fin in a different spot as I just put it in somewhere towards the back of the box.
We also forgot the camera! But will get some photos next sesh.
