Yep DJ, Blane is a 'short arse'!!
I had the pleasure of meeting and surfing with him last year in Hawaii and the guy is nothing short of inspirational. He is a very generous guy and like most Hawaiian's lives with 'Aloha' - love, peace and compassion. He runs his life and his business around these virtues and I am priveledged to know him. Not many people know that he was originally asked to be part of C4 but decided to go out on his own - pretty 'ballsy' move from a guy who was unknown at the time!
I don't think I have met anyone so totally committed to surfing with a paddle and this comes out in his boards.
He has certainly been a major inspiration for me and Paddle Surfing.
He came very close to coming down to the Noosa festival last year with Leleo Kinimaka, but it fell through at the last minute.
I know he is keen to get down here some time so lets put the pressure on!!Tell you what though? There is one thing better than meeting Blane! and that is riding his boards!!
If you appreciate what Dave Chun has put into his paddles you will appreciate what Blane has put into his boards! I am off course, totaly biased, but I am yet to find someone who was not totally stoked in Blane's creations!
