Two things:
1. It's very Wile E Coyote when he stops falling then you hear rumble, rumble, rumble, ....
2. What were they thinking? I'll just reach out and try to stop half a ton of falling machinery with my hands.
no wonder more and more are getting killed in the back country when you see what can go wrong
That's another "What were they thinking?" moment.
Fair enough to ski down from there. Mega-mega dumb to just stand on the pointy bit of snow and think you can just put your skis on and get ready without falling off. Too cheap or stupid to put in a snow anchor and a safety line?
