Amazing!
But the inevitable injuries ..
One bad mistake could cripple you or kill you or leave you with injuries you'll carry for the rest of your life.
I don't like extreme sports that encourage young kids to take big risks.

Agreed. These guys are definately living on the edge on these trial runs. Awesome to see it from the rider's view and having no music over the sound of the run. Really gives a better perspective of what they actually go through....the cheering, squeaking brakes, crunching landings.

The dog at 0:28 cracked me up. I could just imagine him thinking..

"Hmmm...this looks like a good place to take a shi ....... WOOOAA....WTF!?!"

WOW I have never seen those downhill trial guys before. The consequense for mistakes is severe.
Also I wouldnt want to live at the bottom of town and have to work at the top, or perhaps the other way around

Very cool stuff-are there many MTBikers out there...
Mountain biking is an awesome way to stay fit and heaps of fun-you certainly don't need to go to these extremes to feel the buzz.
For all you guys and girls that get to a point where you need a new 'fad' just for the heck of it I can thoroughly recommend it-keeps you fit for the SUP
Pouring up here today -cant ride, but can go for a surf....

Hey SUP DOC, quite a few of us in Sydney still MTB - Goatie, Jedjunglesnow and myself.
DTM used to build the gnarliest 'northshore' style drops around here until he absolutely creamed himself. Thats pretty much when he and Goatie picked up SUP.
I still ride whenever I can for overall fitness. I recently signed up for the the 'single track mind', series but had to pull out due to the left wing being out of action.

Couldn't agree more - there is no better combo for overall fitness and clearing the mind going from ocean to bush.

As you say these videos are the extreme.
There are so many awesome, smooth single tracks around here from Menai, to Ourimbah and Awaba where you can fang around at mach speed and not leave gthe ground - just watch those tree's!

Just like SUP you don't need to backdoor pipe or Back-bombies to have fun!

Yeah the boys have mellowed a bit since Dan broke his elbow, but we still have some of the best riding right on our doorstep and it's too good a sport not to do. Nothing beats a SUP in the morning and then a ride in the arvo once the sea breeze kicks in to cool things down.

And Dan got back into it last weekend for the first time since his accident. We hit up Stromlo where he went straight out for a 3 and a half hour ride!

Here we are pre SUP:

Hey guys that is fantastic
I have just come back from Mt Buller -awesome flowing trails
The new stonefly trail lives up to the hype -the other trails around the village are also superb
The stonefly is basically a climb of 1 hr 45 mins and then a 10 min(if that) descent
Berm after berm after berm ...the speed you can carry is insane..only limited by your bravery.
Hoping to hit Queenstown later in the year as they have opened up the gondala for general MTB .
Until that time I just have to console myself with the single track locally and the ****ty surf around Lennox

Ahh the old Mtn Bike days!!

Been getting back into it lately for the fitness. This is 8 min from my house in pristine bushland.....pic was taken before I broke too many different parts of the old body:

I used to live in Whistler, arguably the best place on earth to mountain bike. Although it didn't do much for the fitness as all the best trails are accessed by chair lift or gondola. Or even in one case to finish off the season riding we all went heli biking!

Here is a link to Ryan Leech's section in one of the best mountain bike DVD's of all time ROAM.
