It makes me wonder the answers to two questions:

(i) Is a 2s barrel on a SUP that hard or noteworthy? (judging by the responses, yes)

(ii) Why use a SUP in waves like that? (in his case he might want to gather experience to use in competition?)

That's one of my eternal (SUP) questions. If barrels are so good, and barrels are so hard to get on a SUP, why SUP at all (especially in good waves)? Why not use a shortboard or if you don't have the ability, (god forbid) a booger?

Bugger off Legion !!

Legion the Subtractor !!

Fellow SUP'ers,
When I see a post from "Legion" I like to say "Lesion" to myself;
Definition: A lesion is any abnormal tissue found on or in an organism, usually damaged by disease or trauma. Lesion is derived from the Latin word laesio which means injury.

Lesion rhymes very closely with Legion. A blood sucking legion/lesion who consistently sucks the good blood and good vibe out of the forum.

Cause most of us have all ridden short boards all our lives including the spots where the photos were taken plus many others and are frankly bored with it - still do it - but the SUP wins out nearly every time.

It's a good sequence of a good surfer on a good barrel. This is the internet equivalent of giving a good ride a hoot.

Ask Doggie why he licks his balls. Cause he can. Cause it feels good. Tastes a bit funny tho.

Funny thing is that with this sequence i don't even care what you are riding. He took off behind the section and pulled straight in at Gnarloo, it's about 2 foot deep and heavy as. If this pit is only 2 seconds I will burn every board I own which I assure you would make a bloody big fire.

Good surfing is good surfing, who gives a rats about the equipment?? If you took off on waves like this on a booger, goat boat, shortboard, Mal, fish, Alaia, Rubber tube, mat, Hand Plane or whatever it deserves reco. The guy obviously rips, the fact that it is harder to get pitted on SUP than shortboard in my mind just shows that he would surf better than most on a shortboard as well.

Here's one for you Dogleg. SUP's are harder to surf well than a shortboard, when you see a guy ripping on a SUP it's not because the board helps him to do it, it's because the guy also rips on the board he came from originally. It's not imposting, it's a different challenge and for most surfers that do both the reason why they ride SUP in the first place.

Nice.

I forgot this is a mutual group hug forum. I asked a simple question. I thought this guy is apparently one of the best in the world, and they're nice images but it's a fairly pedestrian barrel in the scheme of things. Some of you really have a persecution complex reacting the way you do, name calling and abusing.

Yes, Now let's recreate the scene in Good Will Hunting. You know the one where Robin Williams and Matt Damon hug in his office. "It's OK Legion, it's OK...... Everybody thinks it's OK to have two names on Seabreeze".

Geez I'm funny

well, if it's hard too get, it makes it so much more rewarding when you do get it/um. i think i'm still talking about barrels- i think

Attempting the Back door there is always pedestrian - give us a break. The guy shares a few piccies on a SUP forum taken from directly in front and all you can do is criticize first that he chose a SUP and then that he's riding a pedestrian barrel and then wonder why someone gives you sh!t.
Get a life - I think thats why so many people stay away from the forums - too many arm chair experts and trolls. Thanks for the piccies scott Mc - I know i can relate to them - had the best pedestrian barrels of my life there in the mid 80's and some of the best pedestrian snottings a few K's south -

Just have to tell him not to get barrelled on such a pedestrian wave in the future

You obviously misinterpreted my comment. The wave itself isn't pedestrian, the particular barrel he got is. Anyway, lacey's cleared it up for me - it's more rewarding because it's more difficult. Frames 6-10 he's definitely in there, but I was just surprised that for a Waterman World Tour champion it wasn't deeper/more critical.
