Hey Scotty, great looking board, even the youngsters look impressed with it.
You mention its a small wave board so have you made it very light weight then with a thin glassing job top and bottom because you won't be using it in the bigger stuff?,
Cheers.

Yer Piros, its probally a little too small for me cos I am about 5-10kg over weight. Can still ride it, surfs good. Feels like a firewire dominator in an sup!
Hey Camo,
Its a small wave design shape wise. Wide tail and short. The glassing is one 6oz on the bottom, 2 six on top with a 4 oz patch. It is vh foam so it probally weighs between 6 to 6.5 kg I guess.

DJ,
I just fall in heaps. Still about same weight. Surfs good, normally just fall paddling around, mostly when I am tired.

Rod, LACEY,
The tow is a bit deceiving on the picture. I measure a straight line to 6 inches forward to the nose. The distances etc are just off experience on my last board. Seem to work but there is no real techo science I use. I can post the measurements if you want them.

I have a question scotty.
What technic do you use to colour your boards?
Pigment resin, painted foam blank, sprayed after glassing?
I'm going to start shaping a noserider for my self (epoxy resin) and would like to use
more than one colour including pin stripes.
Thank you in advance.

Howdy Hazza,
I actually dont glass my boards myself. I have it done professionally but I have had a look at the process. The resin has a pigment in it and this is the lay up which in this case is applied to the bottom and wrapped around the rails. Masking tape is applied to the deck prior to glassing then when the glass has hardened, the rough edges are cut from the bottom laminate on the masking tape edge then the tape pulled off. Then after the top is glassed, pin lines are painted on which hide the coloured to clear edge from top and botom laminates.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Scott

Scotty was kind enough to give me a go on this board in perfect conditions down at middleton yesterday morning- It goes sooooo fast!
Clearly I'm no casso when it comes to reviews and I only caught four waves on it so I won't bother with a review I'll just cut to the chase:

The reason I haven't been able to get this board out of my head is that it was the first time I rode a SUP and went- yep, this could replace surfing for me.

Nice work Scotty, and cheers for the quick loan :)

classic lacey

the fin box sits pretty far back on the hornet but still gets a bit slippery in waves over 6 foot with a bit of bump

you better make sure that dale slaps the finbox right back on the board he is making for the missus........woooohooooooo

scotty

i heard about your paint job while I was at noosa from one of the balcony spa regulars that lives down your way you can just image how long i laughed for....lol..........to be honest i'm still laughing.....hehe.......

looks nice still

rock on

Yer no worries Chris, SUP surfing is my favorite at the moment. More fun than anything.....

Hey Bucket head,
Can't get the look of the yellow board and the red helmet out of my mind so I had to have the yellow board. Can't do the red helmet, that's just too silly!

Need to get you and robbo over here for a week over the west coast one year so don't go spending all of your leave tickets in Noosa spas cleaning fish hooks....

I am talking swags, counter meals and quality waves. No day spa's or nail polishing reach around perfume testing....

Rocking on dude

Red helmet and yellow board- that's just wrong- don't do it: only one thing that would look like, and that's Ronald McDonald.
