Has anyone spotted the new east swell on its way. There is a big high pressure system out pat NZ, The winds are easterly out there kicking up 30 seas heading this way. We'll probably feel them by Wednesday morning, definetly by Thurs day.
The front in the southern tasmen could cause some problems, but if everything is similar to last year, we are in for some good 2m east swell this week. From about Sept on last year we got most of our swells from giant highs sitting out east of NZ and pumping strong easterly wind and swell thru the New Caleadonia to NZ gap

It is just one of the sites I use for swell prediction.
We have a strong southerly blowing now which might confuse the swell if it hangs in overnight, my windsurfing days tell me it will be gone by 2pm. I still reckon by Thurs morn Coffs and north will have a nice east swell arriving, there is supposed to be an east coast low forming Friday off of Ballina that could be good.
I've been watching the forecast but it keeps changing, I guess its going to depend on what happens with that low. I cann't get out until the weekend anyway. Its solid southerly wind here now Nora Head hasn't gone under 20 knots since 9am.
