I'm thinking that this might be the new Starboard K15 put though its paces and given a standing ovation at the end of the test..

I watched it twice.. .. IMO It's less borring than watching the cricket or the golf..

I just have to talk Jonathan and Paul into taking the fins off their K15's..

dj, thats the joy of test cricket. early surf, get home for the boxing day test, help gravity hold the couch down and doze off to sleep with tony, ian and co droning on, raise one eye brow when someone yells-'HE'S GONE' and drift of again.

what more could a bloke want
cheers

That guy could sure use his stick though ! Hard to watch, but I couldn't look away, watching his use of the paddle...

DJ, a good old shoot out at The US Open is hard to turn off. I was in Vegas watching Tiger Woods play off against Rocco Mediate in 2008 playing at Torrey Pines. It was brilliant golf, and the coverage on one of the biggest Full HD screens in the world at The Bellagio Hotel, was pretty amazing.

This joint is the a great place too, at Carmel just near Monterey. Very short walk to the beach.

I really wanted to hear some commentary. I have no idea what they are judging on but it's but it's hilarious. Maybe Roy and HG could shed some light on it for us all

Agree with Simondo
Watch the way the old boy uses his paddle, subtle shifts with the balance point to get the canoe spinning more efficiently. Faaaark, maybe it's time to call it quits but I was kinda mesmerised. Cut through the corny, and I know there is plenty of it, but I found that kinda inspiring, some wicked paddlecraft going down. Another twenty years time I'm gonna own that sport!!
Cheers

I'm sure they give points for shaft length and control

FANTASTIC paddle technique, take a look at the telemark turns, draw strokes and control of a 12 foot odd canadian canoe.

How's the control? It might not be the most exciting sport ever but to have that kind of control over anything takes serious practice and dedication.

I don't care what sport it is I can appreciate it if it means a lot of practice and dedication to get a high level.

I can even watch dragon boating!

I used to paddle a C1, mostly whitewater stuff, but I never had the skills that old dude has. The award for crazy goes to this guy.
