I've seen one, and there about the same weight as the normal C4 paddle.

The only thing that i didn't like was the shape of the handle.

But i guess it had its purpose.

I don't think I'd like the 'door knob' feel either.

It's taken a while to come out.. www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=34953

I wonder if that's because of a production thing or a patient thing.

You would have to get the hand pressure right or it could be adjusting as you change sides to paddle. Just does'nt seem like it takes much to twist and slide.
Wouldn't mind giving it a go though............As they say don't knock it until you've tried it.

Have you used this paddle Simon? If you have, how did you go with the round knob? An adjustable paddle makes sense to me especially as a first paddle for a family.

Hi Steve,

Yes I have used the paddle and it paddles like the C4 carbon paddles as the blade design is identical to the 8.5" carbon blade size. The knob does feel a bit different when you first start to paddle but like most things you adjust pretty quickly. The handle has to be round due to how the mechanics of the twist-&-lock system works.
I have already sold quite a few to dads wanting to get their kids into SUP as it is alot cheaper than buying multiple paddles. As the kids grow, the paddle can be adjusted to suit so they learn early on the correct way to use it. Also found them very useful for our SUP school, there will never be the odd couple out trying to learn with an under/oversize paddle again!

BIG swell running today. Might take the DC16 out to get some runners...
