First day of my 3 weeks holiday and I creased my board paddling over 2ft whitewater!!!!
Firstly as it is only 5 months old do you think it could be a warranty issue?
If I have a snowballs chance does anybody know any good repairers on the Sunshine Coast and roughly what it would cost.
One of the main reasons I bought the Tufskin Starboard because as the website says:

Tufskin technology uses a layer of continuous mat fibres sandwiched between 2 layers of glass weave to form a thick, stiff and durable epoxy sandwiched laminate.
The standing area has a 0.6 mm Australian pine veneer layer for extra strength.
With superior impact resistance, it is the technology of choice for those looking for durability and strength.
The seamless rail finish and sharp release edges add to the value, quality and performance of Tufskin Technology.

Anyway got a few good waves in before it happened.

Seems to be a lot of broken / creased/ folded back boards of all brands lately? Paddling out through white water.

In the winter down in vicco we get some serious shore breaks and we dont have that many issues with broken boards.

Must be the way people are taking the wave on???

The pointier nose boards as I have said before often spear into the wave the water drains over the deck and you punch straight through. Often on my 2 fav boards the water is up to my knees or higher and just drains off when punching through.

The more volume in the nose I guess the more the board tries to go up and over and with weight in the middle it gets folded back and creases.

May be food for thought.

Phill

Any board can be fixed, the question is how much and how will it paddle afterwards?

What Downwinder said, I note a few of the creased boards being white with a black rail pin line

It will NEVER be the same. I would ask the retailer for some compensation

Wondering what length the board is. Presumably more likely to happen to a longer board. I would say fixability depends largely on the skill level of the person who does the fixing. Sorry about the mishap anyway
