Thanks mate when we do see a shark its normally a Bronze Whaler don't have any trouble with them unless you piss it off ei run into it .Had one about six months ago saw Gizzy walk on water lol(that should get reaction)

Piros: Good mates.... it is a strange attack never heard of the softly first approach.
A mate of mine was sitting on his wave ski and one came up and gave him a nudge as well. I think it was the board that was nudged. I wonder what the proper protocol is. Do you give it a good whack on the beak? And hopefully it gets scared and goes away, or the opposite. cheers
Definetly smack it on the nose , let it know straight away you are no good to eat. The next touch might be a trail bite on your leg. It's a different story under water when you are diving but on the surface you can't trust them.
yep smack it on the nose. I remember hearing or reading somewhere that sharks have a lot of their senses in their nose, so a whack there tend to get them to leave pretty quick. Can't say I have, or even want to put that one to the test though.
