Good morning everyone. I thought I'd share my thoughts on the NSP now that I've paddled it for awhile.
First off, i REALLY like this board. My SIC F14 and V2 (with A.S.S) are not seeing much water time this year.
On flat water, the NSP is noticeably faster than my F14, which was expected. What i didn't expect, was how much fun the NSP is when boat waves go by. I know peole say this a lot, but this board catches waves so easy it's ridiculous. The nose tends to get bumped around a bit more than i like in cross chop, but not too bad. The stability for a 28" board is VERY impressive. I have had it out in many fun DW runs this summer, but nothing too big yet. 5 footers and 20 mph is about it. Again, the board catches a glide like nothing I've experienced, and it seems to be able to stay on a wave longer that the F14 or the V2. The NSP is very "surfy" to me. It's stable on a glide, but it will quickly change course with some foot pressure. That will require me to practice a lotto get the hang of. The NSP feels very bouyant due to the volume, which i both like and dislike to a small degree. When it's choppy and confused, a bit less buoyancy migh be better, but I'll get used to it. I took my V2 out last weekend for a flat water paddle, and immediately wished i had the NSP. Our "real" downwind season is only a few weeks away, so i m anxiously awaiting some more runs on the NSP.
